We are pleased to announce the solo exhibition“Choju Ezu”by Kutani ware artist Masako Inoue.

Using a technique called“Sgraffito”, which is rare in Kutani ware, the artist creates bold compositions with a black base color, resulting in works that are vibrant and lively. Although the technique may appear bold at first glance, the actual work is delicate, and the artist’s style is characterized by the addition of gold and platinum glaze accents.

This exhibition will feature approximately 60 pieces, including vases, decorative plates, lidded containers, matcha bowls, sake cups, and other works in sizes unique to a solo exhibition, capturing the charming forms of various birds and animals, including dragons, one of her signature motifs.
