Masako Inoue Exhibition

  • Date:
  • Time:
  • Venue:La RINA Cafe
  • Close:Thursday

We will exhibit and sell wall-hanging works by Masako Inoue, a Kutani ware artist based in Nomi City, Ishikawa Prefecture.

Using black as a base color, a rare color for Kutaniyaki, Inoue’s bold compositions are full of dynamism, created by a technique called Uwae-Kakigoshi (Sgraffito).

Although the technique may appear bold at first glance, the actual work is meticulous, and the addition of overglaze gold and overglaze latinum coloring is characteristic of the artist’s style.

In this exhibition, you can see her two-dimensional works including dragons, one of her favorite motifs, as well as lions, deer, elephants, and birds.
